Why sell gift cards for cash?
Do you have a gift card that you don’t want? If your answer is yes, you can sell it for cash online, in grocery stores, at a mall kiosk, or select service centers. Though you won’t get the gift card’s full value back in cash, getting some money in return is better than nothing at all. Based on where you sell the gift card and the demand for that particular brand card, cashback offers could be anywhere from 60 to 92 percent. Most of the time, payment options range from cash, a check in the mail, a PayPal® deposit, or a gift card to a different store. Companies that buy such gift cards, sell them to other people at a slightly higher rate, (still below the face value).

Online gift card resellers
A range of online gift card resellers will give you money in exchange for an unwanted gift card. Most of the time, the card’s balance must be at least 20 dollars. For those with high-end gift cards or gift cards to popular stores, the payout is higher. If you sell your gift card online, you’ll either have to mail it to the company or submit the gift code electronically in order to receive payment.
Mall kiosks and other stores
At some local malls, you can sell your gift cards at a kiosk. The cashier will make an offer for your gift card. If you accept, the reseller takes the card and you’ll walk away with the money.
Service centers
Gift cards are purchased at thousands of service centers across America. Similar to the mall kiosk, they benefit from selling your car at a service center and you receive your payment immediately.
